A score of offers have been received from England and Palestine in reply to the contest for the post of Chief Engineer to the Jerusalem Municipality proclaimed six months ago. Nine offers were selected for consideration and a special commission compesed of representatives of the Government and the Municipal Council will decide to whom the post should be offered.
The Municipal Council has prorogued for another six months the office of the chief accountant appointed by the Government six months ago in connection with the grant in aid extended to the Municipality this year.
