The pact on which the Mapai and General Zionists Parties agreed to form a new coalition Cabinet was formally signed today by representatives of both parties at the home of Premier David Ben Gurion.
Pinchas Lavon, Mapai leader, stated afterwards that the two parties would attempt to bring the Progressive and religious parties into the new Cabinet in order to concentrate all creative forces in the state on the task of building and defending the state. Israel Rokach, General Zionist leader, said that “we wholeheartedly entered into a partnership to jointly bear the burden of upbuilding the state and to strive for its prosperity.”
