No more than about 500 persons today participated in a demonstration against the new economic policy of the Israel Government called by the pro-Communist Mapam Party and by the Communist Party.
The participants were addressed by a number of speakers who urged them to demand increased food rations. No incidents took place during the demonstration. A similar demonstration in Tel Aviv last week attracted several thousand persons.
