A resolution declaring that “present conditions do not offer a basis enabling the Mapem to join the coalition Cabinet” was approved today at a national conference of the left-wing United Workers Party hold at Petach Tikwah. The resolution, which received 155 votes, was adopted after an earlier recommendation, submitted by Israel Galilee, former commander of the Haganah, stating that “prevailing conditions permit further exploration for finding a basis for negotiations,” received only 95 votes.
