Marcos Jakubovitch, the oldest Yiddish novelist in Brazil, has died in Porto Alegre at the age of 82. Born in Poland, he came to Brazil 50 years ago. He contributed to various Yiddish newspapers, including “Di Presse” in Buenos Aires in which he serialized his novels.
