An historical exposition celebrating the 300th jubilee of the Ashkenazic Jewish Community in Amsterdam was opened by Mayor W. DeVlugt today in the sixteenth century weighing house where long ago fisherfolk brought their catch to be weighed.
Dr. De Vlugt paid high tribute to the great role of Amsterdam Jews in the economic, social, and cultural life of Holland.
