In memory of the fourth yahrzeit of the death of Dr. Kaufman Kohler, a sermon on “The Lessons from the Life of a Modern Rabbi” was preached by Dr. Hyman Enelow at Temple Emanu-El last Saturday. The yahrzeit lights, illuminated only on the anniversary of the death of leaders of Temple Emanu-El, were placed on the pulpit, and the entire congregation rose to recite the kaddish prayer. Dr. Kohler was the rabbi of Temple Beth El, recently merged with Temple Emanu-El, for 24 years.
