The official opening of the Tiberias Hot Springs Concession, which was leased to a Jewish Company for a period of forty years took place today in the presence of guests from many sections of the country.
District Commissioner Edward KeithRoach officiated at the ceremonies.
The company which has received the concession has a capital of 55,000 shares and aims to convert Tiberias into a health centre similar to that of Carlsbad. Its aim will be to restore the hot baths of Tiberias to their ancient fame.
The hot baths of Tiberias were known early in history and are mentioned in Jewish literature dating from the third century of the present era.
