The Markish family is desperately trying to get the highest level American intervention in behalf of their efforts to obtain exit visas from Soviet authorities to go to Israel. David Markish, son of the late Jewish poet Peretz Markish who was killed in the Stalin purges of 1952, said today in a telephone conversation from Moscow that he has asked for a meeting with President Nixon when the latter comes to Moscow May 22. He said that his mother, Mrs. Esther Markish, has also asked to see Nixon. Markish ended a three-day hunger strike yesterday.
