Lord Marley, chairman of the world Committee to aid victims of Hitler Fascism, Deputy Speaker in the House of Lords and member of the British Labor party, will speak on “What I Saw in Biro-Bidjan,” at 8 o’clock tonight at the Central Opera House, 205 East 67th street, at a meeing arranged by the ICOR Association for Jewish Colonization in the soviet Union.
Six years ago the soviet government assigned Biro-Bidjan, in the Far Eastern region of the Soviet Union, to the Jews for mass colonization. Its purpose was to establish a Jewish Soviet Republic. The first settlers have made great progress and the “Cozmet.” plans to settle ten thousand more Jews in 1934.
Other speakers will be S. Almazon, national secretary of ICOR, and Louis Hyman. abe Olken will preside. Sergel Radamsky, tenor, will render a number of modern songs of the soviet Union and of the famous composer Stiffan Volpi.
