The recent clash between students of the pro-Government Students’ Organisation, the Legion of Youth, and the antisemitic students of the National Democratic Party during the elections to the Students’ Mutual Aid Organisation at Warsaw University, in which the students belonging to the Legion of Youth (as reported in the J.T.A. Bulletin of the 23rd. inst.) shouted to the National Democrats: “You are only antisemites with your tongues, while we are antisemites with deeds”, had a sequel to-day during the plenary session of Parliament, when the Club of Jewish Deputies introduced an interpellation drawing the attention of the Government to this slogan used by the Pro-Government students, and at the same time quoting a report which has just been issued by the official news agency, Pat, (Polish Telegraphic Agency), announcing that Marshel Pilsudski has accepted honorary membership of the Legion of Youth.
What steps does the Government intend to take, the interpellation of the Club of Jewish Deputies, which is addressed to the Prime Minister, the Minister of War and the Minister of Education, asks, in view of the grave harm which may be done by Marshal Pilsudski’s acceptance of honorary membership of the Legion, creating the impression on public opinion in the country that the Marshal and the Government have given their sanction to the antisemitism proclaimed by the Legion.
