Secretary of State George C. Marshall today refused to make any comment on the American stand on Palestine. Answering questions at a press conference, Secretary Marshall said the American position will be revealed at a later date, when discussion on the problem starts at the U.N. Political Committee.

Representatives of Israel and Egypt this afternoon met with the seven-member Security Council sub-committee set up by the sanctions resolution of November 4. They presented their views of acting mediator Dr. Ralph Bunche’s plan for an armistice and establishment of a “neutral zone” in the Negev. Both representatives carefully pointed out that their statements did not commit their respective governments. The committee will continue its deliberations tomorrow.
