Marvin Lender, the past national president and chairman of United Jewish Appeal and former president of Lender’s Bagel Bakery, was named chairman of the pro-Israel solidarity rally scheduled for Sept. 23. Organizers say the rally, sponsored primarily by United Jewish Communities and to be held near the Israeli Consulate in New York, is expected to draw tens of thousands of people.
