An impressive send-off was given last night at the Hotel Astor to Rev. Zvi Hirsch Masliansky, known as the “Jewish national preacher” prior to his departure for permanent settlement in Palestine.
Mr. Masliansky, who is 80 years old, is sailing with his wife on the Conte di Savoia Saturday evening. He has been residing in the United States for forty years and has won great admiration on the part of every group in American Jewry.
Among the listed speakers at the gathering last night were Felix M. Warburg, Morris Rothenberg, Dr. Israel Goldstein, Rabbi Stephen S. Wise. Mrs. Edward Jacobs, Rabbi L. Levinthal, A. Goldberg, Peter Wiernick, Chaim Greenberg and others.
