Separatist groups in the Saar were accused by the German Front of planning to create conditions which will force Chairman Geoffrey G. Knox of the League Commission to call in troops to restore order. Opponents of the Nazis are being trained in the use of machine guns and intend to carry out a coup d’etat before the plebiscite date, the Nazis said.
A report submitted to the League by its Saar Commission accused the German Front of the very things the latter is now laying to its opponents.
The Commission report told in detail of terrorist work being carried on in the Saar by the German Front, which was called “a secret government.”
The German Front, according to the report, is completely controlled by Nazi secret police.
