A mass demonstration to express solidarity with Soviet Jewry was organized by DAIA, the central representative body of Argentine Jewry and an affiliate of the World Jewish Congress, and held in the Teatro Argentino in Buenos Aires last week, it was announced here today by the WJ Congress. The date, Aug. 12, was chosen because it was the anniversary of the execution of 23 Jewish intellectuals in the Soviet Union during the Stalin regime. In Mexico, the central representative body, also an affiliate of the WJC, will hold a similar mass meeting in September under the slogan, “Let our brothers in the Soviet Union go!”
