A bill outlawing discrimination in Massachusetts in the rental of all apartment buildings of three or more units, and in sales or rentals in housing developments of 10 units or more, regardless of how they were financed, awaited signature today by Gov. Foster Furculo.
The bill, drafted by the American Jewish Congress and supported by the Jewish Community Council of Metropolitan Boston, cleared the State Senate last week. It is described as the broadest anti-bias legislation ever enacted by any state in the housing field, and has been likened to anti-bias housing legislation in New York City.
The measure, which went through the Legislature with bipartisan support, had been endorsed by Gov. Furculo.
