Indications that Aryan members of crews on German merchant vessels are instituting an “isolation pogrom” against Jewish seamen is made evident by the assertions of German crews entering New York, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency learns.
Inspired by Nazi sentiment and the desire to secure jobs aboard ship for their friends, Aryan seamen have refused to speak with or in any way associate with Jewish sailors, who have succeeded in retaining their jobs by virtue of many years faithful service to their employers. Aryans disregarding this policy are automatically put into the category of Jews and, as such, excluded from all Nazi organizations in Germany and considered “outcast Jew-lovers” by their non-Jewish mates.
