Under the direction of Israel’s Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog, large shipments of matzoth for the coming Passover celebrations have been sent to the many Jewish communities abroad, particularly those in the “Iron Curtain” countries of Eastern Europe, it was reported here today.
In addition, Rabbi Herzog sent personal packages containing holiday greetings, to Moscow’s Chief Rabbi Levine as well as rabbis in other Soviet and East European communities.
