Maurice Gordon Liverman, Jewish leader and chairman of the Stoke-Newington magistrate’s bench, was killed last night when his car collided with a bus near Brighton. His wife, who was with him in the car, was taken to a hospital.
Liverman was for many years treasurer of the Board of Deputies of British Jews and chairman of its defense committee. He was also a member of the Anglo-Jewish Association and president of the Grand Council of the B’nai B’rith in London. Funeral services will take place on Sunday.
