Maurice H. Blinken, a leader in the Jewish Community Center here, has just been elected president of the Yonkers Board of Education, the first member of the Jewish faith to hold that office in the city’s history.
Mr. Blinken is a corporation lawyer and certified public accountant. He has been serving as legal advisor to State Superintendent of Insurance George S. Van Schaick. He was appointed to the school board a year ago.
A member of the Jewish Center board of governors, Mr. Blinken is also a former trustee of Temple Emanu-El.
