Maurice Moskovitch, famous Anglo-Jewish actor and favorite of Yiddish audiences on the East Side of New York a generation ago, received an ovation at his debut on Broadway Monday night, at his first appearance in the leading role of “Josef Suss,” a drama based on Lion Feuchtwanger’s book, “Power.” At the end of the second act, Mr. Moskovitch received many curtain calls, as well as cheers, bravos and similar demonstrations. At the end of the performance, Mr. Moskovitch briefly thanked the audience for its warm reception.
