Max Abelman, executive director of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities from 1909 to 1923, and well-known Brooklyn civic worker, died yesterday after a long illness. He was 73. For 12 years, Mr. Abelman was connected with the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn in an executive capacity, and for years he was active in fund-raising for non-Jewish as well as Jewish causes.
