The University of Brussels paid tribute yesterday to Max Gottschalk, a research professor for 45 years at the University’s institute of sociology. Mr. Gottschalk, who is 80, has been active for many years in Jewish affairs. He has been associated at various times with the Jewish Colonization Association, ORT and the Alliance Israelite Universelle. He is chairman of the National Center for Higher Jewish Studies which he founded in 1960 under the auspices of the University of Brussels.
