Max M. Fisher, noted national Jewish leader and chairman of the executive committee of the Detroit Jewish Welfare Federation, has been elected president of the United Foundation of this city. Mr. Fisher served as president of the Jewish Welfare Federation from 1959 until this year.
With his election as president of the United Foundation, Mr. Fisher becomes the head of one of the nation’s most important Community Chest organizations. He is, additionally, the Associate General Chairman of the nationwide United Jewish Appeal, and a prominent figure in American industry.
