Max Zaritsky, American Jewish labor leader who was treasurer of the National Labor Committee for Palestine for many years, died here yesterday at the age of 74. He was active also in other labor Zionist groups, including the Jewish National Workers Alliance.
The son of a rabbi in Russia, he came to the United States in 1906 and started as a worker in a hat factory. He later was elected president of the Hat and Millinery Workers International Union, and held this post until his retirement in 1950.
