Premier Mussolini is reported to have received a telegram from Dr. Stubbendorff, leader of the Isbjorn expedition which has recovered the remains of the Andree Polar expedition, telling him that it would not be difficult to find the remains of the young Italian-Jewish scientist, Aldo Pontremoli and his five companions who were lost in the ill-fated polar expedition of the Italian dirigible Italia under the command of General Nobile in 1928.
Dr. Stubbendorff has promised to place all the survey material and data he has collected at the disposal of the Italian government. Dr. Pontremoli, who was a professor at the Milan Polytechnic Institute, was a grandson of Luigi Luzzati, Italy’s former Jewish premier.
