Grand Rabbi S. Sabban and the Jewish Lay Council of Turkey today feted Dr. Israel Golstein, president of the American Jewish Congress, at a reception here. Leading members of Turkey’s Jewish community, including M. Nassi, president of the Lay Council, attended.
Dr. Goldstein was also the guest of honor at a reception tendered earlier by Istanbul’s Mayor K. Gokay. In his remarks, Mayor Gokay pointed with pride to the harmonious manner in which various minority groups now live together in Turkey.
