The protest forwarded to Mayor LaGuardia by the United German Soci|eties, the Northeastern Saengerbund and other German groups against the police ban invoked against their rally planned for last Saturday night in Mecca Temple Casino has fallen on deal ears.
The Mayor’s office takes the position that the action in this instance was purely a police matter, and the grievance of the German groups should be taken up with Police Commissioner Lewis J. Valentine, if they deem it warranted.
The action barring the societies from holding the proposed German rally was taken after police officials had decided that the Nazi groups might become involved in some conflict with persons attending the lecture given on the same night in another hall of Mecca Temple by Vladimir Jabotinsky, Ziionist Revisionist.
