A new flood of anti-Jewish literature was sent out here today from the Mayflower Hotel campaign headquarters of Louis T. McFadden, who yesterday announced his candidacy for President of the United States in 1936.
Impressed by McFadden’s expenditure of money for stamps and printing bills, scoffers were finally convinced that the Pennsylvania fanatic’s announcement was not just a gag, like the Wintergreen, Andy Gump and Eddie Cantor-for-President movements of other years.
“Keep Our Christian Churches Open in 1936!” the former Congressman’s campaign material proclaims in large black type.
“Elect Hon. Louis T. McFadden” on a “Hands Off the Jews” platform, the erstwhile buffoon of the House of Representatives pleads with prospective voters.
