Fears that Congressman McReynolds’ Neutrality Bill, prohibiting collection of funds for combatants abroad might interfere with campaigns to aid Jews in European countries in the event that the countries were at war, were dispelled today.

Mr. McReynolds assured Congressman Citron that his bill would not prevent private organizations from collecting funds for the relief of individuals in warring countries. The bill would seek to forbid Americans “to solicit or receive any contribution for any such (belligerent) government or political subdivision, or any person acting for or on behalf of such government or subdivision,” according to the text.
