League of Nations High Commissioner for German refugees James G. McDonald and Norman Bentwich, head of the Jewish Affairs division of his office, today conferred with the chairman of the Polish committee to aid intellectual German refugees.
After the meeting the League officials accompanied by August Zaleski, Polish Senator, and Professor Anigstein visited the Jewish quarter of Warsaw, where they observed the extreme poverty of the Polish Jews.
A dinner for the visitors was given by the Polish Foreign Office at the Europa Hotel.
The High Commissioner and his assistant will leave tomorrow for short visits to Stockholm, Copenhagen and London.
