A joint mass meeting will be held tonight at the Hippodrome under the auspices of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League and the American Federation of Labor Leaders of both organizations will speak on the theme: “The Economic Boycott is the Answer to the Nazi War Menace.” This meeting is one of a world-wide series arranged by the World Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi Council of which Samuel Untermyer is president.
The purpose of tonight’s meeting is to address to the central committee of the League of Nations a petition for an official international economic boycott directed against German goods and services in protest against Nazi military policies and unilateral rejection of peace measures. Endorsement of this plea is expected at similar meetings already arranged in Paris, London and the capitals of fourteen countries.
Speakers tonight will include Samuel Untermyer, Dr. Harry Lee Franklin, executive secretary of the Chest for Liberation of Workers of Europe. Dr. Rowena Morse Mann, formerly professor of philosophy at the University of Jena; Dr. Abba Hillel Silver of Cleveland, Heywood Broun, Luigi Antonini, president of Local 89, I. L. G. W. U. and Dr. Kurt Rosenfeld, former Prussian Minister of Justice.
