A meeting to rally support for the creation of a Jewish settlement in the Kimberly region of Australia was held here last night with Sir Norman Angell, Nobel prize winner, as principal speaker. He declared that, while he was a Zionist, he supported the Kimberly plan because it did not represent a threat to Zionist aspirations and might help to ease the tragic situation of the Jews all over the world.
The meeting adopted a resolution supporting the demand by the Australasian Council of Trade Unions that the Australian Government reconsider its rejection of the Kimberly scheme and urging friends of the project in Australia to continue their efforts. Other speakers included Dr. I. N. Steinberg, father of the Kimberly plan, and Prof. Sidney Hook.
