A meeting of all Arab kings and presidents to discuss Palestine will be held next Tuesday near Cairo, it was reported here today. It will be the first full conclave of the present Arab rulers ever held. King Ibn Saud, of Saudi Arabia, and Imeun Yehia, the ruler of Yemen, are not well enough to attend the conference, but will delegate their sons to represent them.
The conference called by the Arab League at Damascus to protest against the recommendations of the Anglo-American inquiry committee has been postponed until after the Arab rulers have met. Meanwhile, the Arab Higher Committee in Palestine today issued another statement saying that enforcement of the recommendations of the Anglo-American committee “will be the signal for an Arab uprising” throughout the Middle East.
Reports carried in the American press yesterday that the quota for Jewish immigration to Palestine had been increased to 3,000 for the period of May 15-June 14 was described today as “inaccurate.” The announcement of a quota of 1,500 certificates for this month, which was published in the “Official Gazette” on Wednesday, was a repetition of the previously announced allotment.
