West Bank professionals and intellectuals who oppose the eventual return of that area to Jordanian rule have telegraphed Premier Golda Meir and other government leaders protesting their recent meetings with Anwar Nuseibah, a former Minister of Defense of Jordan who lives in East Jerusalem. Nuseibah is widely regarded here as an unofficial representative of King Hussein.
The protestors claim that Nuseibah does not represent West Bank Arabs and was the wrong partner for discussions with Israeli government leaders. Nuseibah has denied that he represents Hussein in any capacity. Meanwhile, observers here said that a new Syrian government embracing pro-Soviet elements will be formed this week following the establishment of a national front in Damascus.
