An attempt to establish the date of the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and of their entry in Canaan, will be made by an archaeological expedition at Jericho, according to an announcement in the “Daily Telegraph” today.
The expedition is being financed by Lord Melchett and Sir Charles Marston. Excavations at the ancient city of Jericho will be begun next season by a British archaeological expedition under Professor John Garstang.
