The future political relations between, the Jewish community of Jerusalem and Israel were discussed here last night at a meeting of three Cabinet members and representatives of the community here.
The ministers–Finance Minister Eliezer Kaplan, Minister of Agriculture Aaron Zisling and Immigration Minister Moshe Shapiro–have been constituted a special Jerusalem committee within the Cabinet. They left for Tel Aviv today without revealing the results of their talk.
Jerusalem is relatively quiet now. During the infrequent occasions on which electricity is available and bus traffic is seen–on a greatly reduced scale–the city takes on an appearance of near-normalcy. Now and then one hears shots, but it is mostly target practice or the accidental discharge of a gun. However, this is not always the case. A local Hebrew newspaper reported that four Jews were wounded by Arab snipers Monday and yesterday.
