Members of the Federated Kosher Btuchers of America, Inc., were assured by Thomas J. Dwyer, Commissioner of the Department of Markets, at a dinner given in his honor Wednesday night, that he would give them every assistance in enforcing the kosher dietary laws of orthodox Jewry and would deal vigorously henceforth with all violators. A movement for the consolidation of all the associations interested in the subject, added Mr. Dwyer, had made considerable progress, and soon a comprehensive plan for 100 per cent enforcement would be agreed upon.
Maurice J. Cooper, president of the organization, and Louis Neikrug, its executive director, said a program on the subject was now being worked out with a view to obtaining stricter observance of the kosher laws. About sixty persons attended the dinner.
