The Washington chapter of the American Association of University Women was today accused of racial and religious intolerance by Lucille Furman, an officer of the organization.
Court actions involving the disfranchisement of the chapter have been under way for some time, it was learned. Miss Furman confirmed this and called the branch a “black sheep” of the national organization following protests which arose as a result of a bitterly anti-Semitic speech delivered before the group last week by Rep. Ed Gossett of Texas.
