The non-Jewish population of Memel, which was greatly agitated during the Passover week by a rumor that ritual murder was the cause of the death of a Christian servant girl, employed in a Jewish household, has today learned officially that their was no ground for such accusation.
The city directorate issued an official statement declaring that it established beyond doubt that the servant girl, Miss Jakumait, died as the result of gas poisoning.
