German, Austrian and Czecho-Slovakian Jewish refugees previously resident in the Memel district have been informed that their residential permits will not be extended and the refugees, who have been in Lithuania since Memel was taken over by Germany, have been ordered to leave within a fortnight. The order does not affect other Jewish refugees who, however, have been ordered to reside in certain towns.

Meanwhile, Jewish war veterans and other Jewish organizations, with the active support of leading Jewish industrialists and merchants are extensively participating in the raising of a national defense loan.
