A memorial honoring 1,146. Jews who were deported to their death during the war from the town of Mohaacs was unveiled today in the presence of government and church leaders. The town’s surviving Jewish population was assured by speakers at the unveiling ceremonies of the community’s warm sympathies. The inscription on the monument reads: “Love thy neighbor as thou lovest thyself.”
