The memory of George “Buzz” Beurling, Canadian war hero who was killed near Rome two months ago while en route to fight for the state of Israel, was honored here last night at a meeting in the Shaar Hashamayim Synagogue which was attended by leading Jewish and non-Jewish community leaders.
Despite repeated inquiries by members of Parliament, the Canadian Government continues its refusal to state its policy with regard to the question of extending recognition to Israel.
