Memorial services were held in military cemeteries throughout Israel today for the hundreds of Israelis who fell in the Israel-Arab war which began on June 5. The 30th day marks the end of the traditional initial mourning period.
Here in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Levi Eshkol, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan and Chief of Staff Gen. Yitzhak Rabin were among the thousands who attended services at the local military cemetery. The El Maleh Rahmim and Kaddish memorial prayers were recited by army chaplains. Similar services were held in other parts of the country.
