Simple and impressive services in memory of the late Dr. David Wolf Edelman, for twenty years president of Temple B’nai B’rith, were held here from the pulpit where he preached.
Speakers who included the late rabbi’s boyhood chums and close personal friends, eulogized Dr. Edelman in glowing terms. His character and service were praised. The tribute paid by Isidore Dockweiler, one of California’s prominent Democratic leaders, a Gentile who knew Dr. Edelman as a boy, featured the services. Arrangements were made to dedicate the opening services of the year in this magnificent synagogue to its deceased rabbi.
Other speakers included Rabbi Edgar F. Magnin, of Temple B’nai B’rith, who arranged the ceremonies; George Mosbacher, vice-president of the Temple; Federal Court Judge Harry A. Hollzer; Superior Court Judge Lester W. Roth; Mrs. Ida Meltzer, president of the Temple Sisterhood; Marco R. Newmark, president of the Jewish Federation.
