A memorial service was held here yesterday for 48 Jewish hostages shot at Mont Valerien by the Nazis in 1941. Representatives of all Jewish organizations and institutions filled the synagogue where the services were held. Chief Rabbi Jacob Kaplan was one of the speakers. Wreaths were later laid on the site of the executions at Mont Valerien and then services were concluded at Pere Lachaise Cemetery where the hostages were buried.
