A plaque memorializing the 11 Israeli athletes killed by Arab terrorists on Sept. 5, 1972 at the Olympic Games in Munich will be dedicated during the Passover memorial services (yizkor) April 14 at the Ohr Kodesh Congregation in suburban Chevy Chase. Md.
The plaque, which will bear the names of the 11 victims, was made possible by a gift from one of the Conservative congregation’s 575 members. The congregation’s executive director. Joseph M. Miller, said that the donor, who asked to remain anonymous “feared these eleven would soon be forgotten and become just another statistic” in the struggle for peace in the Middle East.
