A huge assembly gathered here last night to hear Menachem Beigen, leader of the Herut and former chief of the Irgun, describe the current political and economic situation in Israel.
He also asked for capital investments from Belgium in the Jewish state and for contributions for the support of widows and orphans of underground fighters as well as for the support of Irgunists crippled in the underground’s campaign against the British. At a banquet at Brussels, later, 300 persons honored the former extremist leader, who is visiting this country for the first time.
