Funeral services were held today for Menahem Kraicer, director since 1951 of the Israel office of the United Hias Service, who died here at the age of 62. He was buried at the new cemetery in Holon.
As director from 1946-1949 in the British zone of Germany of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), a predecessor agency of United Hias Service, Mr. Kraicer supervised the resettlement of tens of thousands of Jewish displaced persons from concentration camps in Germany. Before coming to United Hias Service, he served for almost 10 years as Toronto Central Region director of the Jewish Immigrant Aid Services of Canada (JIAS). He was a naturalized citizen of Canada.
